Telangana Police have unearthed and defused landmines planted by Naxals near Penugolu village in Wazeedu Mandal in Khammam District with the goal of killing police officers.

"Top officials of the government-banned Maoist party militia members with arms plotted a plan to assassinate the Police party, according to reliable information received by Mulugu police.
