Patna: Police and excise department are conducting raids in Saran district after more than 70 people died due to poisonous liquor in Chhapra, Bihar. Action is being taken against illegal liquor manufacturers in different police station areas of Saran. On Wednesday, the excise department identified, and detected illegal liquor vends in the Dilia Rahimpur area of the Rivilganj police station area with the help of drone cameras and then demolished them. Due to this, a heavy police force was deployed in the area.
A team of the excise department and police demolished more than 40 illegal liquor distilleries. Along with this, 250 quintals of raw material for making liquor were also destroyed and 650 liters of illegal country liquor was recovered. This action has been taken by a joint team led by Saran District Product Superintendent. The Bihar Police has been conducting raids at the premises of 'poisonous liquor' for the last few days. Patna Police is conducting raids in the jungles, jungles, and villages to find the whereabouts of liquor.
The same police are carrying JCB machines. The liquor tanks are being found in homes, drains, ponds, etc., and destroyed by JCB. Raids are going on in many localities of Danapur regarding liquor. The police have recovered liquor containers hidden inside drains and ponds. Thousands of liters of liquor have been dug out and destroyed. This process continues unabated. Where there is a possibility of getting even a little alcohol, the police reach there with a JCB machine. A day earlier, liquor was recovered from the house of a JD(U) leader during a raid. A member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) also reached Chhapra Sadar Hospital late on Tuesday evening regarding the death due to poisonous liquor.
