Bengaluru: The Karnataka-led Kumaraswamy government is in great trouble these days. Twelve dissident MLAs of the Congress-JDS alliance have resigned. 11 of them have already reached Mumbai. Amid the crisis, CM HD Kumaraswamy is returning from the US on Sunday. He will consider the formula for solving the crisis. The entire political mathematics of the Karnataka Assembly is also of great importance to the government.

1. Total seat 225 in Karnataka Assembly, comprising of speaker.

2. The majority figure in the Assembly is 113. Remove the speaker then the total seats 224.

3. Out of this, BJP has 105. Congress has 79, JDS has 37, BSP has 1, Independent1 and Nominated 1 (not right to vote).

4. Out of 79 Congress MLAs, 9 HAVE resigned so far.

5. 3 out of 37 JDS MLAs resigned on Saturday.

6. If the resignations of all these 12 MLAs are accepted, the number of members of the coalition government will come down to 103.

7. Recently, 2 Independent MLAs were made Ministers in Karnataka and the BSP is backed by the JDS. The total figure of support will reach 106. The resignation of these 12 MLAs will increase the number of assembly membership from 224 to 212.

8. A majority will require 107 MLAs who do not currently have a coalition government. However, the BJP also has 105 MLAs. In such a situation, the BJP is also not in a position to form a government. But if three more MLAs resign, the number of assembly will come down to 209. THE MLA will be 103 who support the coalition.

9. In such a situation, the BJP can form a government with 105 MLAs. As an independent legislator recently merged his party with the Congress, the number of Congress has risen to 79.
