Dehradun: The sudden entry of former chief minister Harish Rawat to Haridwar on Wednesday after former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat, who returned a day before after grabbing political ground from Haridwar Lok Sabha, has further elevated the political upheaval. Suddenly, there was a welcome ceremony in Ferrupur. Harda did not get tired of praising the villagers at his own reception. However, Harak Singh remained silent on the question of Rawat expressing his intention to contest Lok Sabha from Haridwar.

On Tuesday, former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat reached Dharmanagari and expressed his desire to contest from Haridwar Lok Sabha's seat. Rawat, along with several Congress stalwarts, has worked to lay a mantle to corner Harish Rawat so that he can start his active sit-in by becoming a Lok Sabha MP from Haridwar, but the very next day after his return from Haridwar, former Chief Minister Harish Rawat reached the reception at Pherupur in a tantrum.

Former CM Harish Rawat said that a big game has been played in the delimitation and reservation of panchayat elections in Haridwar rural assembly constituency only on the behest of the former cabinet minister of the BJP. Due to this many people of Congress have been deprived of contesting elections. He has appealed to the Congress workers to unite and make the party people win in the Panchayat elections. He said that this is an opportunity to teach a lesson to BJP. He said that whoever does anti-party work in the Panchayat elections will be shown the way out of the party. He said that the BJP people of Dehradun are after him and the people of Haridwar are after his daughter Anupama Rawat. Whereas nothing is going to spoil them with the people. He is not going to go anywhere else from Dehradun. In 2027, Congress will form the government in the state. If the government is formed, Haridwar Development Council will be formed for the development of Haridwar. He also took feedback from the workers about taking up their problems properly from Anupama. He said that if anything goes wrong with his daughter, then he should forgive her.
