Sonam Kapoor feel politics is might be the reason that why Neerja still not released in Pakistan. Neeraja is film based on real life incident in which Airhosts Neerja save life of 300 hostages during plan hijack in Karachi in 1986. The Ram Madhvi biopic revolves around the plan hijacking.

Actress Sonam Kapoor says, ‘’I think it is just politics. I believe there is no place for politics in art and sports and unfortunately that’s the case.. that is happening. I don’t understand the reason of not releasing it in Pakistan, “ Sonam told reporters here last evening.

Adding more she says, “ all her films commercially week l in Pakistan but “ Neerja” is yet to see the light of the day there. “ It is said that it has not released there officially. I have learnt that people have watched the film through pirated copies which is said. I an disappointed,” she said.

Even shabana Azmi fails to understand that why film still not released in Pakistan. She says, “  I am sad but I have not given up. I hope it releases in Pakistan we have been told the process of releasing the film there is going on”.

Film earned Rs. 52 crore at box office in India. Best compliment come for the film is when family of Neerja too loved the film. On this Sahbana Azmi says “ I cried too like most people after seeing the film. Every one has come and told me I have made them cry so I don’t know if I should take it as a compliment or not”.
