On Friday,The Hindu Sena and  its students' wing Hindu Vidyarthi Sena (HVS) and the Hindu Jagran Abhiyan are out to "purify" JNU’s icon with two pujas.The Mahi Mandavi hostel of JNU which houses various HVS members was hosting Bhagwati pujas and Ram Navami on its ground.

The Abhiyan's invite says, "a prayer and call will be made to Shri Ram and Maa Bhagwati to eliminate all anti nationals of India and purify the university and country from people having impure thoughts."

The HVS has conducted poojas before and member Ajit Kumar & president Anurag Kumar say they've not "faced any resistance" from any group. The Hindu Sena has a reputation for violence but Kumar and Gupta assure there won't be any on campus. They will let everyone know that JNU is "a democratic space where every religion is respected".

Kumar said,"We do not support the anti-national slogans but have to now suffer the consequences of that event,"
