Once a Brahmin, fed up with his poverty, started performing harsh penance to please Lord Shankar. Shankarji appeared in his dream and told him that there is a Sanatan Goswami in Vrindavan, go to him and ask for Paras stone, you will become rich. When the Brahmin met Goswami, he was surprised to see him. He got suspicious about the Paras stone being found with him because he had worn an old dhoti and scarf. Still, he asked for the Paras stone, telling Goswamiji about his poverty. Goswami Ji said when he was returning after bathing Yamuna one day, he hit his leg with a stone.

Seeing its aura, he felt amazing and he buried it under the soil of the ground right there. Asked the Brahmin to go and get a stone from there. When the Brahmin came to know of that place, he went there and he took out the Paras stone and when he made the spurs on the piece of iron he brought, it turned into gold. The Brahmin came to know that the owner of that stone is Goswami Ji but he wants to stay away from it. The Brahmin thought that Goswami Ji definitely has a more valuable thing than Paras stone which is found by devotion to Bhagavad Gita. He pressed the Paras stone there and threw it in the Golden River and took initiation with Goswami Ji. It is said that his clean mind took all his sufferings and he got immense happiness in Bhagavad Gita.
