Bangalore: The newly formed BJP government in Karnataka expanded the cabinet on Tuesday. Yeddyurappa was sworn in as the Chief Minister on July 26 and has been working alone since then. The Opposition was attacking them for not expanding the Cabinet. He has inducted 17 new ministers in his cabinet. But these extensions have come into controversies. They include two MLAs who had been accused of watching pornographic videos in the Assembly.

The two ministers Laxman Savadi and CC Patil, who resigned in the 2012 Porngate scandal, have also been taken into the Cabinet. In 2012, three ministers were caught on camera watching a porn clip on Mobile in the Assembly and three had to resign. Interestingly, Laxman Savadi is not even a Member of the House at present. Former CM Jagdish Shettar and right former Deputy CM KS Ishwarappa and R Ashok are also in the cabinet of CM Yeddyurappa. Apart from the CM, up to 34 ministers can be inducted into the cabinet.

As of now, 17 posts have been kept vacant. In addition to these, Govind M. Karjol, Ashwath Narayan C. N, B. Sriramulu, S. Suresh Kumar, V. Somanna, C. Tea. Ravi, Bapavraj Bommai, J. like. Madhu Swami, C. like. Patil, Prabhu Chauhan, and Sasikala Jole Annasaheb took the oath. Sasikala Jole Annasaheb is the only woman to be inducted into the Cabinet. State Governor Vajubhai Wala administered the oath of office to new ministers at Raj Bhavan.
