The SC has granted anticipatory bail to businessman Raj Kundra, the husband of actor Shilpa Shetty, Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey in a pornography case on Tuesday.  The S C granted him and four others anticipatory bail in the case. The case involves an FIR against them for allegedly distributing pornographic videos. 

As per information, On Tuesday, a bench of Justices K M Joseph and B V Nagarathna also directed all the accused to cooperate in the investigation. The court said, “Having heard the counsel for the parties, we are of the view that the petitioners may be granted anticipatory bail,”. Senior advocate R Basant, appearing for one of the accused, submitted that a charge sheet has already been filed in the case and the accused are cooperating with the investigation.

Recently Bombay High Court rejected Raj Kundra's plea for pre-arrest protection in a case pertaining to an FIR lodged by Mumbai police in 2020 for alleged distribution of pornographic content.  The court said, "The case arises from common FIR. By order impugned in all these cases, anticipatory bail has been denied but there were orders of interim protection. Counsel for state would take the following stand before this court- charge sheet has been filed and in case of grant of anticipatory bail it must be made clear that petitioners must cooperate in case their presence is required."

It further added, "We are of the view that they should be release on Anticipatory bail subject to conditions by the Trial court In case there they should fully cooperate. Court will incorporate this as a condition for anticipatory bail."

Speaking about the case, Raj Kundra was in news last year when he was accused of making porn movies and selling them on online platforms. After this Raj Kundra was also in jail for a long time. When some models and struggling actresses alleged that they were forcibly made to work in porn films. An FIR was registered against Raj and others after a woman approached the police and made certain allegations.
