According to the information received, no tsunami warning has been issued even after the powerful earthquake. As a precaution, both advisories and warnings have been issued against people not to move around the coastal areas. This is because aftershocks can persist.

The American Geological Survey (USGS) has given information that there was about 7.0 Richter earthquake about 90 kilometres north-east of Nemi. This is a dangerous level of earthquake.' North India was shaken by the earthquake on Friday night before that. On Friday, earthquakes were felt in several states of North India including Delhi-NCR, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal and Punjab.
