New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi on Tuesday attacked former President of Congress Rahul Gandhi and described him as a 'migrant leader'. Joshi further said that after being rejected by the people of Amethi, his family's stronghold, Rahul Gandhi has taken refuge in Kerala.

Joshi targeted Rahul over the issue of women's entry into Sabarimala and claimed that the national and state leadership of the Congress had taken a different stand on the issue. Prahlad Joshi, the party's election in-charge for Kerala, has represented Gandhi, representing the state's Wayanad seat in the Lok Sabha, to clarify his stand on the Sabarimala issue. Trying to attract Christian voters, Joshi raised the issue of the conversion of the Hagia Sophia Church in Turkey into a mosque, citing "appeasement of Islamic fundamentalists" by the Congress and the ruling Left in the state.

In this regard, he cited the statement of a leader of the Congress-affiliated Muslim League, in which he praised the objectionable decision of Turkish President Rajab Tayeb Ardoan. Describing the preparations for the BJP's 'Vijay Yatra', Joshi claimed that Rahul Gandhi is a "migrant leader" who, despite winning three times from Amethi constituency in UP, did nothing for the development there.
