CBFC has denied certifying Prakash Jha's Lipstick Under My Burkha as the film is too lady-oriented.
To which the director Prakash Jha said, "Audience is mature enough to understand what is good or bad. We should have certification instead of censoring. No one should have the power to chop anything from a film."
Prakash has talked about his next step regarding the same, "Yes, of course, I will appeal to the tribunal like I have done before, that is the only option."
Lipstick Under My Burkha is a story of the aspirations of women and the film is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha showcasing the life of four women played by Konkona Sensharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur and other casts are Sushant Singh, Vikrant Massey, Shashank Arora.
While the CBFC chairperson Pahalaj Nihalani said, "the board was doing its job and the movie makers had the option of approaching the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal."
