New Delhi: Former President Pranab Mukherjee in his book 'My Presidential Years' has revealed a very shocking revelation about Pandit Nehru quoting from Nepal. Pranab da has stated in the book that Nehru rejected the proposal to make Nepal a province of India after the end of Rana Raj in Nepal.

Pranab Mukherjee has written that the then King of Nepal Tribhuvan Bir Bikram Shah had proposed to Pandit Nehru that India should be made a province of Nepal, but Pandit Nehru rejected the proposal saying that Nepal is a free country. And it should remain a free country. Pranab Mukherjee has said in this book that Nehru believed that different PMs can take different decisions on foreign policy, security, and internal administrative issues, even if they all belong to the same party. For example, Lal Bahadur Shastri took many decisions different from Nehru's thinking.

Not only this, but Pranab Mukherjee has also written about Nepal in the book that he felt that if Nepal's proposal for inclusion in India would have been given to Indira Gandhi instead of Nehru, she would not have missed this opportunity like Sikkim.
