Lucknow: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ajay Sharma was surrounded and shot dead by miscreants outside his house in the Phaphamau police station area of the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday (November 8th). Ajay Sharma was taken to Swaruprani Nehru (SRN) Hospital in critical condition after being shot. He was admitted to a private hospital where his condition is now stated to be out of danger.

Soraon area officer Sudhir Kumar said some unidentified miscreants opened fire on BJP Kisan Morcha Gangapar district vice president Ajay Sharma in Lehra village under Thana Phaphamau on Monday night. Ajay Sharma works as a property dealing. He said BJP leaders had gone out to defecate when he was surrounded and shot dead by unidentified assailants.

UP police have recovered empty cartridges from the spot. Police said doctors at the hospital have informed that Sharma's condition is out of danger. He said police are investigating the incident thoroughly.
