Pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day, includes abortion, childbirth, AIDS, and the death of a newborn. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is observed each year on October 15, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Western Australia states of Australia, New South Wales, New Zealand, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, France, Norway, Kenya, Latin America, Central America, South America, Russia, Germany, South Africa, Japan, China, and Kyrgyzstan, are included in the observations every year, officially or otherwise. The day is celebrated with remembrance ceremonies and candle-lit wiggles, with the Lights of Love International Wave of Light.

On October 25, 1988, US President Ronald Reagan declared October 1988 as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day campaign began in October 15, 2002, as an American movement launched by Robin Baird, Lisa Brown, and Tammy Novak. Together, they petitioned the federal government, as well as the governors of each of the 50 states, in conjunction with the first observation of pregnancy and child loss remembrance day in October 15, 2002, with 20 states signing declarations. As a result of the American campaign effort, Concurrent Resolution 222, supporting the goals and ideals of the National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, was passed in the House of Representatives on September 28, 2006. As of 2016, annual announcements occur in all 50 US states, including Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, New York, Rhode Island, and South Dakota.

International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day has not been officially observed. However, despite the lack of formality, individuals, families, and organizations from all over the world took part in the day's observation on October 15 each year to promote greater public awareness, in memory of infants who came together.
