Liquor traders want to take advantage of Corona lockdown

In Lockdown 3, the Center has made rules for states. But in Haryana, liquor contracts can open soon. The government's ongoing negotiations with liquor contractors for two days have reached the final conclusion. The government is preparing to give a concession in excise fees in view of the loss caused to the contractors in the bandh. If conditions are normal, contracts can be opened quickly. Negotiations were going on in this matter for the last two days.

Being the Excise and Taxation Minister, Deputy CM Dushyant Singh Chautala took the meeting himself. In which high officials of the department were present. The contractors were adamant that the situation in the country and the state was different when the bids were made in March. The situation has changed completely due to Corona. In this case, they should be given 50 percent rebate in excise duty.

For your information, let us tell you that the Deputy Chief Minister had a meeting with CM Manohar Lal two to three times on this issue. In the end, it was decided that the excise duty of the contractors till May 20 would be waived. The entire fees for the lockdown period will also be waived. The government has also approved to extend the new excise policy by May next year. After this, a meeting of contractors took place in Panipat on Monday. In this meeting, the unanimous decision has informed the government that they are ready to open contracts in the state interest.
