While all the major sports tournaments have been canceled in the Corona transition, the hope of organizing the IPL is still intact. It is being said that this year will be the 13th season of IPL but the event is going to be held in UAE instead of India. Earlier in 2014 also IPL was held in UAE.
The government is being requested once again for this event. Brijesh Patel, Chairman of the Governing Council of the IPL, said that the IPL was stopped due to Corona infection but now it is going to be held in the UAE. The BCCI has sought permission from the government in this matter and the matter is going to be decided in the meeting of the IPL Governing Council in a week or 10 days after the approval of the government. No decision has been made regarding the dates as well and a final decision is going to be taken in the council meeting itself.
Earlier, the IPL was scheduled to begin on March 29 but it was postponed due to Corona. Since then there has been confusion about whether IPL will be organized or not. BCCI President Saurabh Ganguly had proposed IPL in the empty stadium too, due to which a lot of controversies broke out on social media. Even before this, all the tournaments have been canceled due to corona. Asia Cup and T-20 World Cup are also among them.
