The demand to make Ladakh a union territory for decades has now been fulfilled. After fulfilling this demand, Ladakh Day will be celebrated in Leh on 1 November. Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh has prepared it in a big way. A minister has also been invited from the local administration and the center in this grand event of LAHDC Leh.

According to the media report, 'Ladakh Palram Duston' i.e. Pride of Ladakh program was started in Leh on November 1 in the year 2016. Every year on November 1, this event is celebrated on a large scale in which the local culture, language and identity are prominently displayed. The theme of the program is changed every year. But from October 31, 2019, Ladakh is going to get Union Territory status.

Keeping this in mind, LAHDC Leh has decided to celebrate November 1 as Ladakh Day permanently. LAHDC Leh Chairman and Chief Executive Counselor Gyal P Wangyal said that November 1 is being declared as Ladakh Day instead of Pride of Ladakh Festival. Seven committees have been made for its preparation. Close to five thousand people are expected to come. The statue of King Singe Namgyal will also be unveiled on this occasion. He told that members and dignitaries of LAHDC Kargil have been called. The Union Minister may also be present.
