As the peace process continues in Nagaland for the last several years, tensions in the area have also increased. The central government has said to sign the agreement by 31 October. Meanwhile, talks were again held between the central government and NSCN-IM representatives on Monday. During this time some sensitive issues including separate flags and constitution were discussed. On Saturday, the issue of separate flag and constitution was discussed between NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingleng Muivah and interlocutor from the Center and Nagaland Governor RN Ravi.

According to media reports, possible ways to find a 'respectable' solution were discussed. According to sources, the threat of separate flags and the demand of the constitution is rejected, threatening the exercise of the peace process. At the same time, there is a lot of tension on the demand of Greater Nagaland especially in Manipur in the event of a compromise. In Nagaland and Naga-dominated areas of Manipur, the administration has issued a high alert and cancelled the holidays of police and security staff.

After rejecting the demand for separate flags and constitution, whether or not he will be ready for the agreement, no one has the answer. It is also not clear whether the Center has agreed to the demand for integration of Naga-dominated areas.
