VARANASI: On June 5, President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Varanasi and pray at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. According to District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, the President is expected to arrive at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in the afternoon, based on the initial itinerary.
Following a brief stop at the Banaras Locomotive Workshop's guest house, the President will make his way to the Kashi Vishwanath temple to pray. On the same day, he will depart for Lucknow in the evening. The district administration, police, and all other departments are gearing up for the President's visit.
President Kovind and his family visited Varanasi in March 2021, praying at the temple and attending the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. They were accompanied by Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
During his March 2018 visit to Varanasi, the President laid the groundwork for a number of major infrastructure projects, including the second phase of the ring road and the upgrade of the Varanasi-Hanumana national highway.
