Stone was accused of lying to Parliament and threatening witnesses. Prosecutors said in their arguments that Stone did not demonstrate good behavior. Stone himself accused the allegations of being politically motivated, while prosecutors said Stone lied and threatened witnesses to save Trump. When Stone was convicted in November last, Trump said in a tweet, "I have never seen such a double standard in my country's history."
