Jerusalem: UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived in Israel amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestinian territories. Sunak's visit coincided with speculation about a potential ground invasion by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza. During his visit, Prime Minister Sunak met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. They both emphasized the need to prevent further escalation of violence in the region. Sunak's office issued a statement, saying, "The Prime Minister and President Herzog stressed the imperative need to avoid further escalation of violence in the region. They agreed to continue working together to that end."

Additionally, Sunak and Herzog discussed their commitment to securing the release of British nationals who have been taken hostage in the conflict. Prime Minister Sunak also held a private meeting with former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit. President Isaac Herzog expressed his gratitude for Prime Minister Sunak's support during these challenging times. Herzog took to Twitter and wrote, "During such difficult days, we see clearly who are the true friends of the State of Israel. Thank you, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak, for coming to Israel and for your support and firm stand by the Israeli people. It is time to express a clear moral voice - this is a battle for the values of all humanity. The world needs to understand that if we do not prevent terrorist organizations from carrying out murderous and criminal attacks - they will not stop."

"Palestinians are victims of violence. It's important that we continue to provide humanitarian access," stated UK PM Rishi Sunak. "I am in Israel, a nation in grief. I grieve with you and stand with you against acts of terrorism. Today, and always," Sunak tweeted as he landed in Tel Aviv. "Above all, I'm here to express my solidarity with the Israeli people. You have suffered unspeakable acts of violence, and I want you to know that the United Kingdom and I stand with you," he told reporters upon his arrival in Israel. The visit of the UK Prime Minister during this sensitive time underscores the international concern for the ongoing conflict and the commitment to seeking a peaceful resolution to the situation.
