New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived here on Sunday in the process of his four-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Officials said Kovind reached Srinagar airport here at 11.15 am and was received by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha by senior officers of police and Union Territory administration. The President's visit is said to be from July 25 to July 28. Due to this, Ram Nath Kovind has taken several important decisions for the good of India.
He said that during the visit from July 25 to July 28, the President will visit Drass in Ladakh on Monday to pay homage at the Kargil War Memorial on the 22nd anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Earlier in 2019, due to deteriorating weather, the President could not go to Drass to participate in Kargil Vijay Diwas and instead paid floral tributes at the War Memorial at the Army's 15th Corps headquarters in Badami Bagh area here.
On Tuesday, the President will address the 19th convocation of the University of Kashmir. Officials said traffic on two routes leading to Raj Bhavan (where the President will stay) has been diverted from Sunday to Wednesday as part of security arrangements for the President's visit. A traffic department official said that road changes have been made in some areas of the city. An e-book highlighting activities has also been shared on the fourth year of the presidency.
