Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: President Droupadi Murmu offered prayers at the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. Following her visit to Hanuman Garhi, she will proceed to the Ram Temple to participate in prayers. This marks her inaugural visit to the newly erected temple.

The consecration ceremony, known as 'Pran Pratishtha,' for Shri Ram Lalla at Ayodhya's historic temple, took place on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted the Vedic rituals during the ceremony, which was overseen by a consortium of priests. Dignitaries from various spiritual and religious denominations across the country graced the occasion.

Representatives from diverse backgrounds, including tribal communities, are expected to join the ceremony. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir is built in the traditional Nagara architectural style. Spanning 380 feet in length (east-west) and 250 feet in width, with a towering height of 161 feet, the temple is supported by 392 pillars and features 44 doors.

Elaborate sculptures of Hindu deities adorn the pillars and walls of the temple. The primary sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor houses the idol of Shri Ramlalla, depicting the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram. Following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, a multitude of devotees has been flocking to Ayodhya, with many making daily visits to the Hanumangarhi Ram Temple, leading to a notable increase in footfall.
