President Ram Nath Kovind is presenting padma awards to 141 people at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. You must be aware that the Padma Awards, the highest civilian honour after Bharat Ratna in the country, were distributed at the historic Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. On the other hand, the grand ceremony felicitated those who have done outstanding work in various fields. In fact, this time two years of awards are being given. 141 people have been awarded padma awards for the year 2020. Tomorrow, 119 people will be honoured with Padma Awards for the year 2021. Let me tell all of you that today 7 people were awarded padma vibhushan, 16 people from Padma Bhushan and 118 from Padma Shri for the year 2020. Among the awardees are 29 women, 16 posthumous awardees and 1 transgender awardee. Now, tomorrow, tuesday, 7 people will be honoured with the largest Padma Vibhushan award in the list of Padma Awards for the year 2021.
