New Delhi: The first phase of the budget session of Parliament is starting from today. Today, on Friday, President Ram Nath Kovind will address the joint sitting of both houses of Parliament. The first phase of the budget session will continue till February 11. After this, its second part after a gap will start from March 2 and continue till April 3. Before the commencement of the budget session, the Congress protested in front of Gandhi Murthy in Parliament House over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The protest is being led by Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress. Senior Congress MPs including Rahul Gandhi also participated in it. It is seen from the opposition's view that CAA will try to surround the government on issues like NRC and inflation.

President Ramnath Kovind has reached Parliament House before the budget session. After this, the Parliament session will be duly started. The Congress has announced that their members will sit in black in the House and oppose the CAA and NRC.
