New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has announced the date of the presidential election. Presidential elections will be held on July 18 and on July 21, India will get a new President. June 29 will be the last date for nominations. At a press conference on Thursday, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that the notification regarding the presidential election has been issued.

A pen with special ink will be made available for voting in the election. To vote, you have to write 1,2,3 and indicate the choice. If you do not mention the first choice, the vote will be cancelled. The Election Commission will also provide pens for tomorrow's Rajya Sabha elections, while political parties cannot issue any whip during this period. There will be voting in parliament and assemblies. The General Secretary of the Rajya Sabha will be in charge of the election. Along with this, instructions have also been given to follow corona protocol.

President Ram Nath Kovind's term ends on July 24, 2022. The last time the presidential election was held was on July 17, 2017. The general public does not vote to elect the president. For this, representatives elected by the people and representatives of the Upper House vote. For example, members of both the Houses (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) will vote in the presidential election.
