Day by day inflation has disturbed people, in which the prices of vegetables and fruits are increasing every day. Onion prices are increasing. In the same market, the biggest onion market in Lasalgaon, Maharashtra, has seen a sharp jump in its prices. It is known that the government had expressed confidence about the fall in prices due to the ever-increasing supply. But just two days later, on Monday, onion prices in Lasalgaon mandi have increased by 10 percent.

According to sources, the public is upset because of the rising prices of onions. On Monday, the wholesale price of onion has been Rs 55.50 per kg. This is the top level of four years. As before, it was priced at Rs 13 in early August. The price of onion in retail has increased from Rs 20 per kg to Rs 80.

Price of onion can be Rs 100 per kg:

It is being said that onion prices will soon cross the Rs 100 level. In retail markets, onion prices are running between 70 and 80 rupees. If we talk about the last three months, in the same period, onion prices are seen to increase by four times in the wholesale period.

It is known that in this context, businessmen say that onion has been produced very less last year. Due to which there is an increase in it. Onion crops have been badly affected due to unseasonal rains. Apart from this, traders have attributed the adverse policies of the government to this. At the same time, Chairman of Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) of Lasalgaon, Jayadatta Holkar has said that there have been unseasonal rains in October and November, due to which the crops sown in Kharif have been damaged. In the same way, the initial variety of onion sown in the South Indian states including Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka has damaged. This is the reason, due to which the supply of new varieties of onion in the market has increased.
