The decision taken by the Government of India on RCEP has been highly appreciated by the industry and farmer organizations. Milk products company Amul has termed this decision of the government as a milestone. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India has decided not to sign the RSEP. He said that due to lack of satisfactory response to India's concerns related to it, India has decided to stay away from it.

The Conference of Indian Industry (CII) has also honored the government's decision. CII President Vikram Kilreskar said that the organization stands with every agreement of the Government of India which takes into account bilateral interests.

FICCI President Sandeep Somani has also supported the government on the RSEP. Somani said that he is in support of the decision taken by the government on the issue of Arcep. Somani said that India's concerns could not be taken into consideration in this deal, while many issues were strange. Many sectors had registered their concerns during the ongoing dispute over Arcep. Among them, industries such as steel, plastic, copper, aluminum, machine tools, paper had raised their concerns on this.

The dairy industry too had expressed its concerns about this. Along with this industry, the farmers' organizations had said that this agreement of 16 countries would threaten the milk and dairy industry of the country. After this agreement, very few dairy products from countries like New Zealand and Australia will come in the Indian market. This would have a very bad effect on prices, the final impact of which was on the farmers already in crisis.
