New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday, inaugurated the first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), popularly known as 'YashoBhoomi,' located in Dwarka, Delhi. This state-of-the-art convention and expo center is poised to become one of the world's largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Destinations) destinations.
The Prime Minister also marked the day by launching the ambitious PM Vishwakarma scheme at IICC, a move aimed at supporting and upskilling individuals engaged in traditional crafts across 18 crafts. The scheme, fully funded by the Central government with an allocation of Rs 13,000 crore, is seen as a significant political outreach to the predominantly OBC community, including the Vishwakarma community, particularly as the Lok Sabha elections loom in the near future.

1. Cutting-Edge Facility: YashoBhoomi, formally known as India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), is a modern convention center situated in Dwarka Sector 25. It boasts world-class facilities, including a Convention Centre, multiple Exhibition halls, and various support areas.
2. Project Cost: The project's development comes with a hefty price tag of Rs 5400 crores, reflecting its scale and ambition.
3. Impressive Infrastructure: Covering an expansive area of over 8.9 lakh square meters, with a built-up area exceeding 1.8 lakh square meters, YashoBhoomi houses a Convention Center spanning more than 73 thousand square meters. It comprises 15 convention rooms, including the Main auditorium, the Grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms, offering a total capacity to accommodate up to 11,000 delegates.
4. Purpose: YashoBhoomi will serve as a hub for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs, and various business events. Additionally, the Foyer area will feature essential support facilities, including Media rooms, VVIP lounges, Cloak facilities, and a visitor information center.
5. Sustainability: Emphasizing sustainability, YashoBhoomi is equipped with state-of-the-art wastewater treatment systems, ensuring 100% wastewater reuse. It also incorporates rainwater harvesting techniques and has achieved Platinum certification from CII's Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for its eco-friendly campus.

Unique Features: The Convention Center stands out with its impressive features, including the largest LED media facade in the country, a plenary hall with a seating capacity of approximately 6,000 guests, and one of the world's largest Exhibition halls. Notably, the public circulation areas in 'YashoBhoomi' showcase Indian cultural inspirations through terrazzo floors with Brass inlay depicting rangoli patterns, suspended sound absorbent metal cylinders, and illuminated patterned walls.
