Addressing an election public meeting in poll-bound Himachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi slashed into the Congress as Modi urged voters to give the Bharatiya Janata Party a 3/4th majority in the hill state.

Himachal Pradesh will take part in an election for a new Assembly on November 9, and the results of the election will be confirmed on December 18.

The Congress, at present in power in Himachal Pradesh, faces a hard battle from the BJP, which opinion polls forecast will easily succeed in the state election.

Speaking in Himachal Pradesh's Rait in Kangra, PM Modi attacked the Congress, saying none of the party's leaders had come to the state to campaign. “They have already left the field leaving everything on fate," PM Modi said.

"I have heard that Congress has lost the faith of its own leaders and is looking for fight back in other parties," PM Modi went on to say, adding that Congress is "getting the fruits of its sins". "If people are angry today, it is due to its (Congress's) own deeds."

"They don't know Modi is follower of Sardar Patel and won't be frightened," Prime Minister Modi continued, "People who were habitual robbers and have had to return their rob today won't let me be at peace."
