Today i.e. 19 October is the birthday of India's first TV star Priya Tendulkar. She is still remembered for her brilliant characters. She was popular both in Bollywood and TV industry. She was married to actor and writer Karan Razdan but this marriage lasted only 7 years and then broke up. Priya got her real identity in both the industry from the TV serial 'Rajni'.

Priya was fond of acting since childhood because she belonged to a family whose whole family was associated with theatre. She used to participate in theatre from school time itself. She played the role of Gudiya in Satyadev Dubey's drama 'Hayavadan'. Later she worked in Marathi dramas like Anji, Kamla, Kanyadaan, Ti Phoolrani. Priya played the real husband and wife in 'Rajni' and 'Kisse Mian Biwi' shows along with her husband Karan Razdan.

Priya was also a very good writer, she also wrote many compositions, mainly Tyacha question, Janameela. She died at a very young age, causing a wave of mourning in the entire industry. She died of a heart attack but she also had cancer. On her death, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji also expressed tribute.
