Reports of Priyanka Chopra suing the fraudster Nirav Modi over non-payment for an endorsement deal had been floating on the internet. However, the Quantico actress has denied any such move from her side. A spokesman, on her behalf, has issued a statement stating that Priyanka has terminated the contract with the billionaire jeweller Nirav Modi following the accusation of fraud against him.

“There are speculative reports that Priyanka Chopra has sued Nirav Modi. This is not true. However, she is currently seeking the legal opinion with respect to terminating her contract with the brand in light of allegations of financial fraud against Nirav Modi,” read the statement.

Priyanka Chopra and Siddharth Malhotra appeared in an advertisement for Nirav Modi’s jewellery brand. Even Siddharth fell prey to similar speculations of him suing Nirav Modi. A source close to him denied any such decision being taken by him.

The jewellery giant Nirav Modi was accused of using fraudulent practices to procure overseas credit from other Indian Lenders by Punjab National Bank. The bank claimed the scam amounts to Rs. 11,400 crore. He acquired fake letters of undertaking from PNB’s Mumbai branch.

Nirav Modi flew out of the country along with his family in January this year.
