New Delhi: Congress Party National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has termed the government's vaccine strategy as a "gross failure". He said the BJP-led Central Government cannot put the responsibility on others as Narendra Modi, not Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, is the PM of the country at present and should come forward to protect Indian citizens.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also said that instead of accepting constructive suggestions being given by the opposition parties in times of crisis, it is being rejected. She emphasized that "Apart from politics, we should stand together and do what we can to save the lives of the people." Priyanka Gandhi said, "They (the government) in spite Wasting time Manmohan Singh, a former PM serving the country with selfless attitude and self-respect, is getting a reply from a minister to a letter written to the current PM, the Union Minister blaming the states for increasing the demand for oxygen. And the state governments of the opposition parties are being targeted in the Central Government's communiqué".
Priyanka Gandhi made the remarks in reference to a letter written by health minister Harsh Vardhan to former PM Manmohan Singh. In response to a letter sent by Manmohan Singh to PM Modi, HarshVardhan had written a letter alleging that the second wave of corona epidemic was caused by Congress-ruled states as they were suspecting vaccines instead of vaccinating people.
