New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s sister and Soniya Gandhi’s daughter  Priyanka Gandhi formal entry into politics. She has been appointed AICC general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East. As her entry in politics was announced on Wednesday afternoon, the Bharatiya Janata Party dubbed it as an expected move. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that Priyanka Gandhi’s induction is the declaration of Rahul Gandhi’s failure.

 Addressing reporters, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said Congress considers the family as the party and it is expected from it to promote dynastic politics. He said the development exposes the leadership capabilities of Congress president Rahul Gandhi. “They consider family as the party. Expected, to promote dynasty is what Congress is all about.”

BJP spoker person further added that Rahul needs the support of his sister. He added that “We congratulate the Congress for formally declaring that Rahul Gandhi has failed and now needs the support of his sister. After being ignored by Mahagathbandhan in almost all states, they are looking for support from within the party,”

The announcement of Priyanka’ came ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in April and May. The Congress party is going it alone in Uttar Pradesh and will be contesting on all 80 seats, after the SP and the BSP forged an alliance and decided to exclude Congress from it.
