Plus I don't look like her in any way. She is from North East India and I am from North India, we don't look alike physically.'
Priyanka Chopra has said that she worked hard for 5 months for the role of Mary Kom. 'I have met Mary and have also spent time in her house with her children, husband. I had to take sports training for about 5 months, which was not easy... and to physically transform my body to get into athlete shape. So physically and mentally it was very difficult.'
According to media reports, there were many controversies regarding the casting of Priyanka at the time of the Mary Kom movie release. Mary Kom received the National Award in the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment category.
