Sonbhadra: After the massacre in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, The UP in-charge of the Congress, Priyanka  Gandhi Vadra, who is going to meet the families of the victims, has been stopped by the UP police from going there. Her convoy has been stopped at the border of Mirzapur and Varanasi. Priyanka Vadra has sat with her supporters on a dharna in Narayanpur.

The police stopped Priyanka Vadra from picketing and took her to the guest house of Chunar. According to news agency ANI, Priyanka Gandhi has also spoken of herself being detained. On the other hand, DGP OP Singh has categorically denied the detention of Priyanka Gandhi. Priyanka, he says, is only being prevented from going to Sonbhadra, she has not been taken into custody.

Priyanka Vadra is also sitting on a dharna with her supporters at the Chunar Guest House in Mirzapur. She says she will definitely visit Sonbhadra and meet the victims of the incident there. Earlier, Priyanka Vadra had visited the BHU Trauma Centre for the injured in the Sonbhadra incident. At 10 people were killed in a land dispute in Sonbhadra. Section 144 has been imposed in Sonbhadra on behalf of the administration.
