New Delhi: Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is scheduled to hold an online meeting with Congress leaders in the state today on the agenda for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections-2022. State in-charge Priyanka Gandhi will also visit Lucknow on July 14. The meeting will discuss the strategy for the elections and to expedite the party's activities. The Congress is looking to return to the state after more than 30 years. The meeting will also brainstorm on how to boost the enthusiasm of party workers.

The meeting assumes importance in view of the dismal performance of the Congress in the recently concluded block major elections. Congress candidates won only two of the 825 seats in the block major elections. The BJP had won the election in a landslide victory, with the saffron party trying to retain power in the coming elections. According to media reports, Priyanka Gandhi's meeting will discuss the preparations for the assembly elections and chalk out a strategy to activate the cadre.

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Congress unit had organised camps for block presidents, district-city presidents and state officials. Which ended on 10th July. The camps focused on strengthening the organization, building booths and discussing several social media campaigns.
