Mangaluru: U T Khader, the Deputy Leader of the Congress in the Legislative Assembly, said on Tuesday that the State Government should conduct a thorough investigation to determine who started, instigated, and fueled the entire hijab controversy.

Khader, a Mangaluru MLA, stated in a statement that the government has lost control of the state's law and order situation. The government should quickly arrest anyone observed inciting a commotion on campus and restore order. "The only objective of the BJP and the RSS is to generate polarisation for their electoral benefits by sowing seeds of hatred between communities and individuals," he stated.

"They targeted after students this time." The purpose of a college campus is to provide opportunities for learning and growth. Right-wing organisations are using students with the Government's implicit sanction to resort to violent acts of damage and hooliganism," Khader stated. "The State Government has once again failed, this time to confront a communal infection," he stated, referring to the state's failure to combat communal virus.

Khader’s statement comes when the hijab controversy has turned violent in many parts of Karnataka.
