Panaji: The publicity department of the Goa government has done such a thing that they are criticized everywhere. In fact, in a media release, the department made a big mistake by printing the name of the late Manohar Parikar as the current Chief Minister. The Goa government had issued this communique on the occasion of Teachers' Day. In a press release issued by the Information and Publicity Department on Thursday evening, they wished people of Goa a Happy Teacher's Day.
In the release, people were greeted by late Chief Minister Parikar. It said that Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parikar wishes the 56th Teacher's Day to the teachers. In the press release, contribution of former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan to the country is praised. Radhakrishnan's birthday is celebrated as Teachers' Day. This release was sent to the media.
Director of Information and Publicity Meghna Shetgaonkar said that investigation has been started to find out the officer who committed this mistake. She said that "we will definitely investigate it because it is a big mistake. Action will be taken against the person concerned". Manohar Parikar died on 17 March 2019 after being ill for a long time. He held the post of CM of the state. Parikar has also been the Defense Minister of the country. After his demise, Pramod Sawant became the Chief Minister of Goa.
