Today we are going to tell you a recipe for cooked rice, tamarind extracts and an easy and flavoured South Indian style rice made from spices. This recipe is very easy and very delicious to eat. Ingredients for making pulihora-
To cook rice
Rice 1/2 cup
Water 3 cups
For tamarind paste
1/2 hour tamarind soaked in water 35 g
1/4 tsp mustard powder (dry senka)
1/4 tsp cumin fenugreek powder (sukhi senki)
small piece of jaggery
1 tbsp sesame powder (happy senki)
2 green chillies
1/2 tsp turmeric
2 Springs Curry Leaf
1/4 tsp happy ginger powder or 1/4 fresh ginger julien
1 tsp oil
Salt 2 tsp
3 tbsp oil
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Urad 1/2 tsp
Chana dal 1/2 tsp
a little peanut
Kinda Cashewnuts (Optional)
2 green chillies
2-3 happy chillies
A pinch of asafoetida
Pulihora Recipe - First of all, cook rice and it should be puffy, not sticky. Now let it cool completely. Then take it on a large plate and try to spread.
For tamarind paste - Soak tamarind in water and do not add too much water to make the paste. Yes, it should be a thick paste. Now, after that, you have to grind sarso, cumin seeds, fenugreek. Then use all these in tamarind paste and cook the tamarind paste till it thickens.
Then add oil to the pan and after heating the oil well, fry mustard seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, urad dal, peanuts, cashewnuts one by one till brown, now add green chillies, curry leaves and happy chillies, after baking it well, finally add asafoetida. Then take rice and add tamarind paste and masala and mix it thoroughly using your hand. Take your pulihora ready.
