Terrorists opened fire on a joint team of the CRPF and the Jammu and Kashmir police in Pulwama on Sunday, resulting in one officer dying in the line of duty and one member of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) being hurt. According to the Kashmir Zone Police, the area has been sealed off and reinforcement has been sent to help the security forces thwart the terrorist strike.
In a terrorist incident on Sunday in the Pinglana neighbourhood of the Pulwama region of South Kashmir, one police officer was murdered and another CRPF trooper was injured.

This occurs shortly after a terrorist with ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was fatally shot during a shootout in Shopian, J&K. The terrorist was named Naseer Ahmad Bhat, who had reportedly just escaped from a confrontation. Vijay Kumar, the ADGP for Kashmir, said that he had participated in a number of terrorist crimes.
