Pune attracts investors, to generate 25,000 jobs

Pune: Maharashtra Industrial development corporation (MIDC) in Chakan, Pune,  will get an investment of about Rs 50,000 Crores in the upcoming year. Six new multi-national companies (MNC) will set up their plants in this area.

The MIDC has started its expansion for the fifth phase for which the land has been acquired from surrounding villages. It includes Chakan, Waki Khurd, Ambethan, Rohkal, Gonvad and Bidrawadi. The phase will be developed on 637 hectares and the remuneration for the land has been given to the farmers. As of now Rs.200-Cr has been disbursed as remuneration to farmers, and more will be provided after the dispute will sorted out, said Vikrant Chavhan, regional head of Khed Tahsil.

The regional officer of MIDC Avinash hadgal said, “We have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with six new multi-national companies and they will set up their plants which will create approx 25,000 employment opportunities for people and will also witness a large amount of investment. It will be a great booster for the economy.”
