Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron Parkash Singh Badal has been admitted to a private hospital in Mohali for the second time in a week due to ill health. According to information received, the 94-year-old former Chief Minister of Punjab was brought to the hospital late on Saturday night after complaining of chest pain. A Shia spokesman says that the senior Badal vomited several times in the night, but now his condition is stable. Earlier on 6th June Prakash Singh Badal was admitted to PGIMER Chandigarh due to gastric-related problems.

 

He was discharged from the hospital after recovery. Prakash Singh Badal had contracted a corona infection earlier this year, and then he was admitted to a hospital in Ludhiana. In February this year, he was taken to a private hospital in Mohali for a Covid health check-up. He also underwent cardiac and pulmonary checkups. Parkash Singh Badal has been the Chief Minister of Punjab 5 times. And he enjoys a very respectable status in the state's politics. In 1947, he entered politics for the first time and won his first assembly election in 1957. After that, in the year 1969, he won the assembly election.

 

From 1969-to 1970, Parkash Singh Badal served as an executive minister in ministries related to community development, Panchayati Raj, animal husbandry, dairying, etc. Parkash Singh Badal has been the Chief Minister of Punjab from 1970-71, 1977-80, 1997-2002. He was also the leader of the Opposition in the Assembly in 1972, 1980 and 2002. Parkash Singh Badal also became an MP during the rule of Morarji Desai, his tenure as CM has been from March 1, 2007, to 2017.
