Chandigarh: The Corona epidemic has created a lot of panics all over the world and 300 oxygen cylinders have disappeared from Moga city of Punjab. The administration suspects that oxygen cylinders have either been deposited by private dealers to make a profit or have been deposited by the people so that they can be used in case of corona infection.

The same Moga district should have a total of 450 oxygen cylinders while the administration has only 150 cylinders. The officials had directed the suppliers to deposit all cylinders and centralize the supply of oxygen through single vendors. Officials said they are getting oxygen supply from the plant at Mandi Gobindgarh but do not have enough empty cylinders for refilling. An officer said that if they get 300 missing cylinders, they will get 0 of them. 5 MT of oxygen can be arranged.

The same has so far been 2 in government and private hospitals for corona and non-corona patients. Against the daily consumption of 23 MT, the district is getting only 2 MT of oxygen. Moga Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Satwant Singh has been tasked with monitoring the supply of oxygen in the city, Satwant said, "We have received a report that private dealers and people have hoarded 300 cylinders. Some persons have hoarded these cylinders for black marketing. While others have done so panic due to lack of medical supplies.''
