Chandigarh: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has attacked Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in connection with the security lapse of Prime Minister Modi in Ferozepur, Punjab. Kejriwal reached Chandigarh on Wednesday. He said that the law and order situation in Punjab is very bad. Where the PM cannot be protected, how can the Punjab government protect the common man? Kejriwal has said that even the common man is not safe here. We promise that if we come to the government, we will ensure security from the common man to PM. Due to this, he told that next week the party will announce the CM face for the Punjab Assembly elections.
While discussing the same AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal said, 'For so many years both Badal family and Congress were looting Punjab together. This cycle will now stop. Due to the Congress government in Punjab, sacrilege, bomb blasts, lapses in PM's security are happening. The law and order situation is getting worse and the Channi government is not able to handle it.'
According to media reports, the party is going to announce MP Bhagwant Mann as the chief minister's face in Punjab. Approval was also made in the party's highest committee PAC for making him the face of the CM on behalf of the party. But its official announcement is yet to be made. The countdown continues for the assembly elections in Punjab. Polling for 117 assembly seats in Punjab is to be held on February 14. In view of this, AAP has fielded candidates on 109 seats. Now only 8 seats are left to field candidates. This time the contest is going to be between the ruling Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, Aam Aadmi Party and BJP alliance.
