It was claimed that in the viral audio, Sarari was discussing 'planning for extortion' with one of his close friends. Fauja Singh was holding the freedom fighter defense services, welfare food processing, and horticulture departments. However, Fauja Singh Sarari had given a police complaint against the leaked audio clip, dismissing the allegations. Describing the audio clip as fake, the minister termed it as part of a larger conspiracy.
