Amritsar: Rana Gurjit Singh, a cabinet minister in the Congress government led by Punjab CM Charanjeet Singh Channi and close to Captain Amarinder Singh, has attacked the party's state unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu. Rana Gurjit on Sunday hit out at Navjot Singh Sidhu saying he (Sidhu) has no right to question the loyalty of a Congressman.

Rana Gurjit said that it is well known that Sidhu came to the Congress only with the desire to become CM, while I have been a Congressman since birth. He has made it clear that Navjot Singh Sidhu is bent on dividing the party into two factions. No one else is responsible for this, directly Navjot Singh Sidhu. Even after being the president of the party's state unit, he (Sidhu) treats leaders discriminatorily. Rana Gurjit Singh, minister of technical education in the Punjab government led by Charanjeet Singh Channi, did not stop there.

He further said Sidhu was just a hired political man who was devoid of any principle or ideology. Ironically, the man who has been jumping from here to there, who has not yet been in the party for five years, is preaching to those who spent their entire lives in the party. With only a few days to go for the Punjab elections, the growing rift in Congress could create problems for it in the elections.
