Amritsar: Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has now remembered Sikhs trapped in the ongoing Taliban massacre in Afghanistan. He appealed to Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to immediately initiate action to evacuate all Indians trapped in Afghanistan. Amarinder Singh, who has been opposed to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), said 200 Sikhs are trapped in a gurdwara in Afghanistan after the Taliban captured it, which needs to be brought back.

At the same time, CM Amarinder said that the Union External Affairs Ministry is ready to take any help from the Punjab government to bring back Indians trapped in Afghanistan. At the same time, he said the Taliban's occupation of Afghanistan is not good for India. Amarinder Singh feared a China-Pakistan conspiracy behind it and said China had already sought Taliban help against Uighur Muslims.

He said these developments are not giving the right signal and India should exercise extra vigilance along the border. Cm Amarinder Singh, who is remembering Sikhs trapped in Afghanistan today, said he was a vocal opponent of the "Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and had also talked about moving the Supreme Court against the law. The law is giving citizenship and rights to refugees who have come to India after being tortured by neighboring countries."
