Chandigarh: Punjab CM and Congress leader Amarinder Singh said that Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has no right to comment on the new agriculture laws. The Punjab CM said that Sukhbir Singh Badal has no right to comment on the new agriculture laws until the SAD Chief responds to why Harsimrat Kaur Badal did not oppose the ordinance when it was approved in the Union Cabinet.

Amarinder Singh also alleged that Sukhbir Singh Badal is trying to manipulate the farmers' movement to further his party's agenda. According to media reports, CM Amarinder Singh has asked him to answer three questions, "Why did Harsimrat Kaur Badal not oppose agriculture ordinances?", When it was first approved in the Union Cabinet, while at the time she was a member of it.

CM Amarinder further said that why Sukhbir did not support the state government when a meeting was called to form a consensus on anti-farmer laws? Amarinder said that, "Why did the Akalis boycott the session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, in which other parties (except the BJP) voted in favor of the resolution brought in relation to agriculture laws?"
